Algebra Realty is a real estate company that has its roots in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and has over 30 years of existence. One of its founding partners, Jose Augusto, started in the real estate business as a young Boy Scout selling lots during weekends and summer vacations in a rural area of Rio Janeiro. By the late 1970s, he decided to open his own real estate firm in Rio, and in the 1980s married an architect who also became his main business partner. Interested in expanding into international real estate operations, the couple moved to Miami and founded Algebra Realty.
